Transcription[Letter] Head Quarters Co. [Company] "D" First N. Y. [New York] Vol. [Volunteer] Engrs. [Engineers]; Smiths Point, Port Royal Isl. [Isle] S. C. [South Carolina] April 13th 1864; Major! Agreeably to your note of last week, I have the honor to transmit a pen and ink sketch of the Surgery in the 2nd Parallel. To the best of my recollection the dimensions of the same were as indicated in the sketch. I am Major; Most respectfully; Your obedient Servant; C. L. Wilcken; First Lieut. [Lieutenant] comdg. [commanding] Co. [Company] "D"; First N. Y. [New York] Vol. [Volunteer] Engrs. [Engineers]; Major T. B. Brooks; Aide de Camp; Department Headquarters; Hilton Head S. C. [South Carolina]
