TranscriptionLegend; This gun was manufactured at the West Point Foundary 1862 by Robert P. 1. This gun was manufactured at the West Pt. Foundary 1862 by Robert P. Parrott Esq. 2. It weights _ pounds. Its projectile weighs _ pounds and is fired with a [????] of _ pounds of powder. It was first fired at Fort Sumter Aug. _ 1863. _ rounds were fired at Fort Sumter with a mean elevation of 13 degrees 35'. _ rounds were fired at Fort Wagner at a mean elevation of 5 degrees 20' the latter distance being _ yards. Total 398 rounds. In transporting the gun from the landing to the Left Batteries on Morris Isle. 500 men were employed five nights. 3. Several shells burst prematurely. The 28th round broke off 18 inches from the muzzle which did not effect the firing. The last round cracked the muzzle badly.
