TranscriptionTuesday Sept. [September] 1st, 1863; Lieut. [Lieutenant] Wilcken went on duty at 3 o'c A.M. and was relieved at 11 o'c A.M. Strengthening parapet in advance of 5th Parallel. Strengthening the approaches between the 2nd and 5th Parallel. Built magazine for Coehorn mortars and a traverse in 5th parallel. Capt. [Captain] Walker went on duty at 11 o'c A.M. and was relieved at 7 o'c P.M. Reinforcing approach from traverse to beach. Capt. [Captain] Pratt went on duty at 4 o'c P.M., and was relieved at 12 o'c P.M. Repairing embrasures, revetting magazines with sod. Repairing damage done to general magazine. Widening trenches and strengthening parapets. Capt. [Captain] Suess went on duty at 7 o'c P.M. and was relieved at 3 o'c this morning. Approaches to Wagner.
