TranscriptionSunday August 30th 1863; [????] commenced the bombardment this morning, and continued firing all day, one of the 3-100 pdr. Parrott Rifles burst at about noon, dismounting the other on the right, and killing one of the gunners. We lost today about 15 between killed and wounded. The enemy answered our fire rather briskly, but he did not injure our works any; 100 pdr. Parrott on right burst today breaking its own carriage and injuring the gun next it.
