TranscriptionThis night August 18th; Capt. [Captain] Walker commenced a Sap from the left of our 3rd parallel, running [diagonally?] across the open space to the beach and to the right of Fort Wagner. Capt. [Captain] Suess made a pretty good advance having continued the Sap some 70 feet.
