TranscriptionFriday August 28th; Heavy firing all day, the batteries on Sullivans Island opened fire upon our batys. [Batteries?] on the Right, and sent some solid shot [down?] to the 1st Parallel, however there was no damage done, our casualties this day were not much. Capt. [Captain] Walker confirmed the report of the Negro who was blown up, by the explosion of a torpedo, whilst working at the flying Sap near Fort Wagner.
