Strengthening the trench thrown up by Capt. [Captain] Suess; 2nd. Making Loopholes for Sharp Shooters; 3rd. Building Banquet, breast andc. [etc.]; All this in Sap. Capt. [Captain] Suess relieved Lieut. [Lieutenant] Parsons in the Sap and reports that most of his work was done by the flying Sap; Detail 12 Engrs. [Engineers] and 100 Infantry; Material used 100 Sand bags and 160 Gabions; Lieut. [Lieutenant] Baldwin went on duty at [2?] o'c P.M. to 8 o'c A.M. 1st. Strengthening epaulement on left of 2-100 pdr. battery; 2nd. Bracing bomb proof; 3rd. Raising parapet on right of 200 pdr. battery (completed); 4th. Repairing embrasures at 2-100 pdr. battery (compl) [completed]; Detail 13 Engrs. [Engineers] and 30 Infantry
