Transcription4th. Repairing Splinter proofs, in approach to 2nd Parallel; Detail 26 Engrs. [Engineers] and 90 Infantry; Material used Sand bags and Lumber; Lieut. [Lieutenant] Parsons went on duty in the sap at 7 o'c P.M. and was relieved by Capt. [Captain] Walker at 4 o'c A.M. Reports that he advanced the Sap, from the Redan 35 feet towards the enemy's works, passing to the left of the old Chimney. On account of the heavy rain, the work was stopped, the trenches being completely filled with water by morning. One man wounded by skirmish fire. Capt. [Captain] Pratt went on duty at 8 o'c P.M. and was relieved at 4 o'c A.M.; 1st. Covering magazine in 4th parallel, strengthening parapet front of Coehorn battery; 2nd. Repairing trench from 4th parallel to sea, and strengthening parapet of same; 3rd. Constructing barbettes in 4th parallel; 4th. Placing a howitzer in position; Detail 5 Engrs. [Engineers] and 100 Infantry
